OPM Contract Out Now, Vendor Must Give Feds Database Access

On Tuesday, the federal government released its official solicitation for a contractor to alert victims of the Office of Personnel Management data breach and provide them with identity theft protection. The vendor that wins the OPM contract must also give the feds access to its own databases. While the majority of the 21.5 million people affected by the data breach are expected to be notified within a month of the contract’s award, it could take up to 4 months for everyone affected to be alerted. Post OPM Data Breach, Search For Contractor Begins

After it was recently revealed that a data breach at the Office of Personnel Management compromised the information of more than 21.5 million individuals, the fallout has been significant.
